Children's Connected Watch: What package? Which SIM card?

The connected watch for children is a valuable tool to ensure their safety and allow them to be located at all times. However, to benefit from all the features of these watches, it is essential to have a SIM card and a suitable subscription. Why do you need a Phone subscription plan?

Smartwatches work like cell phones , allowing them to make calls and send GPS location data . Unlike Bluetooth tracking devices, these watches can contact you wherever you are. This is why each watch requires a SIM card and a telephone subscription.

Internet data is essential to receive GPS location information from the watch and to enable sending and receiving voice messages. Additionally, the data is needed to manage the watch remotely via an app installed on your phone.

To operate your watch, you will need a classic 2G/3G/4G Nano SIM card.

Smartwatches for children generally consume little data. For example, a voice message or GPS location request is approximately 0.1 MB . However, if the geolocation function remains activated all the time, it is possible to quickly exhaust the 50 MB data credit. In this case, you will either have to choose a plan offering more data volume ( 1 GB ) or reduce the frequency of updating location data.

The chosen plan must include calls, SMS and at least 50 MB of internet data per month. Opt for a 4G sim card from the operator of your choice, with a unique telephone number. The watches work in over 200 countries around the world.
